UNPAD for GMUN 2011

Hi all,

Some of you maybe have been waiting for this information. So as informed before, this year UN will (again) organize an event called Global Model United Nations. This will be the third time of GMUN. The first GMUN was held in Geneva, Switzerland, 2009 and the second one was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, 2010.

Some of our alumni got the chance to join GMUN 2010 in Kuala Lumpur which the theme of GMUN 2010 was "Towards an Alliance of Civilizations: Bridging Cultures to Achieve Peace and Development". The delegation from UNPAD were: Katria Arintya (Econ 2006), Shenandoah Annisaputri (Law 2007), Marsha Claresta (Econ 2007), Lydia Rachmawati (Int'l Relations 2007), Rizka Mantini (Law 2007), Veneta Prabarini (Econ 2008) and Haikal Ananta (Econ 2006). They were split into four committees which were discussing the same theme with different sub-theme in each committee. You can also find the link here

The GMUN 2010 was held in the middle of Ramadhan and ended just before Indonesia Independence day so, it was a gift from God that we can feel it how we could still fasting while we were also doing activities from sun rise until sun sets. Aside, we also taste the real Diplomatic Reception during the Indonesia Independence day, met so many real ambassadors, minister and so many top officials from other nations.

Speaking about the conference it self, it was pretty much different with other common MUN. As I mentioned before, we were split into four committees (and there were only four committees in GMUN 2010) in different sub theme.
